We have signed an important core-partnership with the German electrolyser manufacturer AEM Enapter. The first joint project we are working on together concerns the construction and supply to Comes SpA, one of the leading industrial players in southern Italy, of a plant capable of producing 50 Nm³ of green hydrogen per hour using Enapter‘s AEM technology.
The pilot project for the AEM 50 Nm3/h plant at Comes Spa
This pilot project for the new Comes Spa plant will see us working with Enapter in partnership with SOL Group, EPC and full solution provider.
Comes SpA is a major industrial company operating in the engineering, construction and management of industrial plants, with a consolidated presence in southern Italy. The project we will be implementing together with Enapter involves installing a 50 Nm³/h system integrated into the company’s production processes to introduce hydrogen as an energy resource. Designed in fast-track mode, the project will enable rapid implementation, representing a virtuous example of innovation applied to industry.
This initiative is a significant example of how experienced teams can interact effectively to drive significant change towards a cleaner, more sustainable future:
- SOL Group is leading the initiative as the main EPC
- Enapter will be the supplier of the hydrogen production technology
- We, Simplifhy, will take care of the Balance of Plant (BOP) working in synergy around the Enapter stacks.
The core partnership with Enapter represents the realisation of a shared vision, that of making decarbonisation simple, practical and affordable through green hydrogen. With this in mind, the project for Comes SpA is an exciting challenge for us. Indeed, we will enable one of the most important industrial companies in Southern Italy to improve its skills in the use of hydrogen.
Enapter and Simplifhy: a strategic partnership for green hydrogen production
Our collaboration with Enapter started three years ago, with the aim of setting up plants in Italy using AEM technologies to produce green hydrogen in industrial applications and in decentralised configurations.
Since our foundation, we have developed strong customised integration capabilities at Simplifhy and are now well recognised in the Italian market for these skills. Our long-term strategy is to support industrial, institutional and residential customers in the development of their decarbonisation needs. With this in mind, our partnership with Enapter puts us in the privileged position of developing customised solutions with the most flexible, reliable and efficient technology currently on the market.
In particular, in recent years we have worked with Enapter on a number of important projects:
- Hydrogen Valley in Acerra, one of the first Italian examples of a hydrogen supply chain fuelled by renewable sources;
- OMCD Tek Hub SpA (formerly FILMS SpA), a green hydrogen plant designed to support the production of regenerated hard metal powders;
- PTTEP Technology and Innovation Centre, a 30-bar containerised storage unit, entirely designed in Italy, remotely manageable and intended for an energy innovation hub in Thailand.
Moreover, to further strengthen our know-how, last March we took part in a two-day intensive training session at Enapter‘s production site in Pisa. In particular, the practical session of the two-day training focused on in-depth study of the assembly, testing, maintenance and performance analysis procedures for the EL 4.1 electrolyser. This enabled us to acquire the necessary skills to maximise the reliability and efficiency of Enapter systems in the field.
Even in these uncertain times, we strongly believe in making decarbonisation easy and effective with the use of hydrogen in cooperation with our partners, especially Enapter. In fact, our approach is: ‘Let’s make change happen. Let’s make it happen. Together.
