IHTA 2025 Award: concrete innovation in the use of green hydrogen
The Italian Hydrogen Technology Awards (IHTA) recognise Italian companies that stand out for their innovative use of hydrogen in the industrial and civil sectors.
At Hydrogen Expo 2025, which took place last May in Piacenza, we received the award for the category ‘Innovations in application’, thanks to a cutting-edge project that integrates green hydrogen into a real and operational industrial cycle.
This award underlines the strategic role of Italian companies in the energy transition, enhancing engineering skills and sustainable visions.
Simplifhy project at IHTA 2025 brings excellence for energy transition with green hydrogen
The award-winning project is the result of a collaboration between Simplifhy and OMCD Tek Hub SpA, an OMCD Group company based in Anzola d’Ossola, which has been committed for years to promoting circularity in its production processes and reducing dependence on virgin raw materials.
This initiative represents excellence in the adoption of green hydrogen for the decarbonisation of industry, combining technological innovation, energy efficiency and sustainability.
The project is designed to replace grey hydrogen with green hydrogen to power the production departments for the treatment and production of regenerated hard metal powders.
The heart of the system is Enapter‘s AEM Nexus 1000 electrolyser, the first in the world with megawatt-class AEM technology, powered by a 1.6 MW photovoltaic system. The project includes:
- water treatment, storage and safety systems;
- heat recovery from the electrolytic process to power other production plants and space heating;
- fire protection, ATEX analysis and advanced control systems.
It is an integrated efficiency and sustainability model, designed entirely by Simplifhy, which demonstrates the feasibility and replicability of green hydrogen in the industrial environment.
