We participated in Heysun 2025, the energy transition fair that took place from September 25 to 27 at the SiciliaFiera exhibition center, in Misterbianco (Catania).
This is the most important trade fair in Southern Italy dedicated to renewable energies, a strategic hub for sustainable innovation in the heart of the Mediterranean, between Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
The event, sponsored by the European Commission and the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, offered a valuable opportunity for networking and discussion among international stakeholders, confirming the strategic role of Southern Italy in the green innovation landscape.
Simplifhy’s contribution to Heysun 2025
Our participation in Heysun 2025 confirms our commitment to sustainable innovation and our desire to contribute concretely to the energy transition.
This event represented an important opportunity for us to consolidate strategic partnerships and present our solutions to a qualified international audience.
In particular, within the conference “Renewable hydrogen: generation, utilization, transport, and storage in HTA systems,” we had the opportunity to present an important project in which we are involved in collaboration with Axpo Solutions AG, a leading Swiss international company in energy trading and the commercialization of solar and wind energy.
This is the Hynego project, which involves the construction of a 100 MW electrolysis plant for the production of green hydrogen to meet the needs of ISAB, one of the largest refineries in Europe located in Priolo, Sicily.
The key themes of Heysun 2025: technologies for a sustainable future
Heysun 2025 confirmed itself as the main Mediterranean point of reference for the energy transition, focusing on the strategic sectors that define the future of sustainability.
In particular, this second edition of Heysun focused on some core themes of the energy transition:
Renewable energies, the heart of the transition
Hydrogen vector
Energy storage systems
Sustainable mobility and Smart City
Energy saving and building efficiency
Renewable energies, the heart of the transition
Renewable energies dominated the fair scene, from high-concentration solar thermal and thermodynamic to photovoltaic, from wind to geothermal energy. Southern Italy, thanks to its favorable climatic conditions, positions itself as a protagonist in the production of clean energy, attracting international investments and innovative projects.
Hydrogen vector
Hydrogen was among the protagonists of HeySun 2025 as an energy vector capable of contributing to the gradual elimination of fossil fuels. In fact, European Union measures supporting the spread of renewable and low-carbon gases promote the market penetration of hydrogen in carbon-intensive energy sectors. With several green hydrogen generation plants already in the final design phase, Sicily aims to become a top player in the Mediterranean with repeatable innovative solutions for the replacement of grey hydrogen at national and community level towards a truly sustainable energy transition.
Energy storage systems
Among the strategic themes of the fair was the management of energy flows produced by renewable sources through the use of Energy Storage systems. In fact, storage systems represent a fundamental piece for the use of clean energy, allowing for the guarantee of grid stability and the optimal exploitation of available energy.
Sustainable mobility and Smart City
Electric mobility and charging infrastructures represented another fundamental pillar of HeySun 2025, along with solutions for smart and sustainable cities. The integration of IoT systems and digital technologies for urban optimization attracted the attention of public administrations and private companies.
Energy saving and building efficiency
Technologies for energy saving and energy efficiency of buildings, sustainable materials, and solutions for urban regeneration completed the thematic panorama of the event, highlighting the importance of an integrated approach to sustainability. Particular attention was dedicated to techniques for monitoring the functional parameters of systems, remote control services and systems, smart self-consumption, and Renewable Energy Communities (RECs).
