From 10 to 12 February, Finland will host Nordic Hydrogen Week, an international event dedicated to energy transition and the hydrogen economy, with a focus on the role of Finland, Sweden and Norway.
Now in its fourth edition, the event has established itself as one of the most important meeting places for international pioneers in the hydrogen industry.
What is Nordic Hydrogen Week?
The 2026 edition of Nordic Hydrogen Week takes place in Oulu and brings together industry leaders, policy makers, investors, researchers and stakeholders to discuss and define operational trajectories, from infrastructure to production and hydrogen applications.
This initiative was created to consolidate cooperation between Finland, Sweden and Norway and position Northern Europe as a competitive hub in the new hydrogen economy.
Nordic Hydrogen Week is divided into several components, including the Northern Power Business Forum, Research Day and technical visits to real plants, with a programme that includes panels on emerging sectors such as green steel, maritime transport and aviation.
Networking and supply chain: what to expect from the Nordic event
The event represents a significant opportunity for networking and dialogue between key players in the hydrogen supply chain. Through targeted matchmaking sessions, thematic workshops and round tables with industry experts, participants can explore:

Research Day, the hydrogen research day
The Hydrogen Research Day at the University of Oulu will kick off Nordic Hydrogen Week on 10 February 2026. Organised by the H2FUTURE research programme, the Research Day will bring together leading researchers, industry experts and stakeholders to share insights on the future of clean hydrogen.
Specifically, H2FUTURE is a research programme at the University of Oulu, supported by PROFI7 funding from the Finnish Research Council (2023-2028). The programme aims for innovative thinking and bold, yet realistic, energy-oriented and future-oriented solutions, with a focus on sustainability in hydrogen production.
Field Tour Day
On 11 February 2026, the Nordic Hydrogen Week Field Tour Day will take place, during which it will be possible to visit the main industrial sites in the Oulu region and discover how hydrogen technologies are being implemented in real-world activities.
In particular, participants will visit the Oulu Centre Industrial Park and the Oulu Port Industrial Park, where space has been reserved for the production of hydrogen and hydrogen derivatives.
The Northern Power Business Forum
On 12 February, the Northern Power 2026 Business Forum will be held, during which it will be possible to hear from key industry players, share concrete opportunities for large-scale hydrogen solutions, discover the latest innovations presented by exhibitors and interact with experts leading the transition to hydrogen.
Hydrogen production: technological trends and industrial applications
Nordic Hydrogen Week highlights technological trends, particularly those based on hydrogen production processes using electrolysis powered by renewable sources, which represent the backbone of industrial decarbonisation and energy independence.
Green hydrogen production is increasingly seen as a key element in reducing CO2 emissions in industrial processes and heavy transport. In industry, logistics and energy services, modular and scalable solutions allow hydrogen generation to be integrated directly into production processes, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and increasing the overall efficiency of plants.
Hydrogen economy: projects and opportunities in Europe
Nordic Hydrogen Week is part of a rapidly developing European context, in which hydrogen as an energy source is a central element of energy transition and industrial competitiveness strategies.
