This year, Simplifhy is celebrating its fifth anniversary. This milestone reflects solid and steady growth, built through industrial decarbonisation projects and the development of hydrogen plants tailored to our customers’ needs.
Since Simplifhy was founded in 2021, we have established ourselves as a technology partner for companies looking to integrate hydrogen into their energy and production processes.
13 hydrogen plants installed and 1.5 MW of total capacity
In five years of operation, we have installed 13 hydrogen plants, reaching a total capacity of 1.5 MW. These figures reflect a growth trajectory based on concrete projects and real-world applications of hydrogen-related technologies.
The plants we have developed cover a range of applications, from hydrogen production via electrolysis to storage, and on to direct use in industrial processes or power generation. This integrated approach enables companies to implement scalable solutions that can be adapted to their operational needs.
The design of the plants follows a modular and bespoke approach, allowing hydrogen technologies to be integrated into existing industrial facilities. In this way, companies can embark on a gradual path towards industrial decarbonisation, progressively reducing their use of fossil fuels.
How we have supported over 100 companies in the energy transition
In addition to the plants we have built, one of Simplifhy’s most significant achievements concerns the support provided to companies on their energy transition journey. Since 2021, we have supported over 100 companies in developing decarbonisation strategies and projects based on hydrogen solutions.
The approach adopted involves comprehensive support throughout all phases of the project:
- preliminary analysis and feasibility studies;
- engineering design of the facilities;
- construction and installation of the solutions;
- hydrogen logistics management;
- maintenance and operational support.
This model allows companies to have a single technical point of contact for the entire development cycle of hydrogen plants, simplifying the management of technologically complex projects.
In parallel with the growth of our projects, we have also invested in developing in-house expertise. The team, now comprising nine professionals, consists largely of young engineers specialising in the hydrogen sector and the energy transition. A choice that reflects the cultural approach our founders sought to instil from the outset: building specific expertise in hydrogen by investing in the next generation, including through structured partnerships with technical institutes and the ITS Green Academy.
From collaboration with technology providers to the H2EPIC Consortium
One of the key elements of Simplifhy’s growth has been the ability to build an ecosystem of technological and industrial collaborations.
Over the years, we have developed partnerships with various international technology providers, including Enapter and GRZ Technologies, with the aim of integrating advanced technologies into the construction of hydrogen facilities.
Alongside these technological collaborations, we have entered into agreements with industrial partners such as ISAM and CPL Concordia, thereby expanding our operational capacity to deliver complex projects. Not to mention our active participation in trade associations such as H2IT, LE2C and Assolombarda.
A particularly significant step was the creation of the H2EPIC Consortium, an alliance of SMEs active in the hydrogen sector, with the aim of bringing greater speed and flexibility to the implementation of major energy transition projects, leveraging the complementary expertise of the companies involved.
Strategic industrial partnerships and new product development
Looking to the future, the aim is to further strengthen our role in the hydrogen technology market by focusing on a number of strategic priorities:
- increasing the average size of the plants developed;
- strengthening our financial structure through new industrial partnerships;
- developing proprietary products in the fields of electrolysis, hydrogen storage and refuelling.
Towards European markets more favourable to green hydrogen
International expansion represents another strategic focus for Simplifhy’s future growth. Indeed, we are considering entering European markets where regulatory and cultural conditions are more conducive to the development of green hydrogen.
The aim is to replicate the model already established in Italy, namely designing hydrogen plants tailored to industrial needs by integrating engineering expertise, technological partnerships and an approach focused on the economic sustainability of projects.
In this journey, our mission remains to make a tangible contribution to the decarbonisation of industry, using hydrogen as an energy carrier capable of supporting the transformation of the production system towards more sustainable models.
